Dear Neighbors,

I'm proud to say I'm not an incumbent, because I have not been a part of all the political turmoil that's taken place in City Hall over the last few years. My only political motivation is to make Monte Sereno the best place to reside in the South Bay.

I can only make you one promise — I'll do the best job I possibly can. I will be honest, work hard and always have the citizens of Monte Sereno's best interests at heart. I would very much appreciate your vote.

Biography

I'm originally a cheesehead from Wisconsin, but I've called Monte Sereno home for thirteen years. I'm a single dad, raising a twelve year old son and learning to cook. I have two older sons and all my children have attended Los Gatos schools. I was one of the founders of a web-site called Career Taxi that merged and became part of Monster.com. I'm currently president of an advertising/marketing agency, CKR Interactive, located in Campbell. I have a B.A. in Journalism and an M.S. in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin.

Why Vote For Rogers?

• I know how to build consensus having run a couple of very successful companies. This includes planning for contingencies and balancing budgets through strong fiscal and management capabilities.
• I will preserve our rural environment, but will continue to work within the region collaborating with surrounding cities to maintain our infrastructure.
• I believe we should have more recognition as a city, establishing us as the preeminent location to live in the South Bay. This will act as a strong inducement to increase our property values.
• Safe neighborhoods — I'm proud of Monte Sereno's low crime rate and I'm committed to preserving our city's reputation as a safe place to live. In this regard I strongly support our relationship with the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Department and the outstanding job they've done keeping our community safe.

My Thoughts Concerning Our City

As I sit and write this, I'm thinking about how grateful I am to be living in such a wonderful community, an enclave for and about our residence. Not a place of business dwellings, but a place to call home. Where we can raise our families, feel safe and know that there is probably not a nicer location in all the South Bay. Yes, Monte Sereno is unique.

It is these unique residential qualities that should make us stand-out from our neighbors in Los Gatos and Saratoga. As a councilperson, I would do anything in my power to give our City a separate identity, that when you tell people you live in Monte Sereno, they don't ask "where is that?" This will go a long way in improving the value of our properties as well as creating a greater degree of community pride.
